Builder Coach · helping leaders get AI right

Build the right thing. Build that thing right.

Whiterock Road is a Builder Coach practice for leaders who want AI to actually land in their work. I diagnose what is in your way, build alongside you, and leave you with the capability to keep going.

The operating gap

The friction is not the technology. It is the absence of design.

A Builder Coach is a different kind of help. Not advice from the sidelines. Not a workshop you forget by Friday. Not a vendor who ships an artifact and disappears. I build alongside you, and you keep what we make.

Not a consultant

I build, not just advise

Consultants hand you a deck and a recommendation. We sit in your actual workflow and build the thing, together, until it works.

Not a coach

You ship, not just think

Coaches help you reflect. A Builder Coach helps you reflect and then walk out with a working system in your own environment.

Not just for hire

You keep the capability

I will build it with you, fractionally or on retainer. But I teach the capability as we go, so your team can build the next one.

One-size-fits-one grounding

Build. Teach. Coach.

Good is subjective to the leader in front of me. The job is not to arrive with a generic version of good. It is to identify yours, and reverse-engineer toward it. The method is constant. The path is custom.

01
Build
When you are tapped out

You define what good looks like for your week. I reverse-engineer the path and build the grounding: the voice, constraints, and handoffs that hold AI in your reality. An agent, if one is called for.

02
Teach
As capacity frees up

Concept to a working agent in one structured session. You build it with your hands, the architecture documented, so you leave with the muscle to build the next one yourself.

03
Coach
Once you are running

Ongoing working sessions and on-call time when you hit a wall. The relationship that keeps your AI practice live as the work (and the tools) keep changing.

Tested on me first

The methodology is the story.

In 2020, a head injury erased my memory completely. So I rebuilt my house and my brain, in the same place, with my hands. The street was Whiterock Road.

I came to AI without the sci-fi narratives. I just saw a tool, and started with the friction, not the tool.

That lens (start with what is actually broken, name your version of good, build toward it) is what I now bring to leaders.

Questions

Common questions.

What is Whiterock Road?

Whiterock Road is a Builder Coach practice run by Jenny Cotie Kangas. It helps leaders and businesses make AI land in real work, by diagnosing the friction first, building the fix with you, and leaving you able to build the next one.

What is a Builder Coach?

A Builder Coach both builds the AI system with you and teaches you how, so the capability stays after the engagement ends. A consultant leaves you a deliverable and a dependency. A Builder Coach leaves you a working tool and the skill to build the next one yourself.

Who does Whiterock Road work with?

Leaders, teams, domain experts, and small businesses where AI is not yet landing in the work. The common thread is a real friction and the authority to act on it.

What does "one size fits one" mean?

Every workflow is different, so every build is custom-fit to a single person, team, or business. Even a proven agent off the shelf gets toned to your voice and tuned to your channel until it is unmistakably yours. The methodology repeats. The fit never does.

Know AI should help but not how to start? Let's get you from zero to one.

Name the friction you keep hitting. If it is a fit, we will build alongside it. If it is not, I will tell you that too.
